Dr. Md. Motasimul Hasan Shiplu is a promising neurosurgeon with special expertise in brain, spine, stroke surgery and spinal diseases. Currently he is working as an Associate Professor at Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh. He is specially interested in stroke surgery, neurointervention and spine surgery. As a young leader of the neurosurgery sector of Bangladesh, he is successfully performing his roles as "Scientific Secretary'' of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons (BSNS). Also he is a member of Neuro Spine Society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Society of Surgeons and AO Spine.

After completing the MBBS degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC), Doctor Shiplu started his professional career as a Medical Officer in 2005. He worked in several district and sub-district hospitals for a couple of years. In 2009, he joined Dhaka Medical College as a Lecturer of anatomy. After that, he joined Sir Salimullah Medical College as an Assistant Registrar of casualty department. He then transferred to the surgery department of the same medical college in the same position. He worked there till 2017 and then started working as a Resident Surgeon of Dhaka Medical College Hospital from October 2017. He is promoted as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in June 2019 and currently performing his duties in Dhaka Medical College.
Doctor Shiplu completed his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) in 2002. In 2017 he completed his MS in Neurosurgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He received postgraduate training in Neuroendovascular and stroke surgery under Professor Dr. Shafiqul Islam (Dhaka Medical College, 2021). Doctor Shiplu performed as an observer in Vascular Neurosurgery under Professor Rokuya Tanikawa in the year 2017 from Teishinkai Hospital, Japan.
Doctor Shiplu is happily married in his personal life. His wife, Doctor Sadia Munmun is also a staff of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh government. Currently she is designated in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in study deputation.
